Dear Frank, > 20:39:19 5d 18.8' e=0.2 > 20:42:45 5d 19.2' e=-0.1 > 20:46:23 5d 20.1' e=0.1 > 20:50:54 5d 21.2' e=0.4 > The average error on these sights is 0.15 minutes of arc. My sextant is an > "International Nautical" (Tamaya-alike, similar to an M.A.C.) Thanks for reporting these nice results. I am testing my pocket sextant with the lunars now (Probably this is my fate: wherever I travel, I am always far from a real natural horizon:-) To see an unobscured piece of the horizon I have to travel 1 hour by bus from my present location, and to see the Sun over it I have to start by the earliest bus at 6:45 a.m. However I can use that precious piece of the horizon for back observations between 2 and 4 p.m. :-) My pocket sectant gives about 1' accuracy, and I cannot expect more. And I still do not know what is the problem with my SNO. So I have a request: would you agree to test my SNO with some star or lunar distances if I bring it to Chicago and give it to you for 1-2 weeks? Sometimes in the Fall 2006, I mean.
