Oops! I the cold light of day I spot a slight mix up in the As and Ts. The sentence in my last message should have read:
If T1/A1 = T2/A2, then A2/T2 = A1/T1, so A2 = (A1 x T2)/T1, and log A2 = (logA1 + logT2) - logT1, or in 1820s parlance, the log of the fourth term is equal to the log of the second term plus the log of the third term minus the log of the first term. DaveP
