    This almost got me going

    Spent some more time on your explanation - can't understand why the PL values given in the Almanac (the 12:00 UT, 84° 35'.2, PL 2620 and 15:00 UT, 82° 56'.8, PL 2628 - belonging to the time-brackets) were never used or even mentioned in the calculation?

    What are they for then?

    Also, they do not look like the "the mean difference in the prop logs" mentioned here. I'm still confused.
