In my edition of Radler's 'New Altitude Tables'*), he uses not
log-cosine for DEC,LAT but log-secans to 6 figures.
This seems to result in a far better resolution at the extrema of the tables
(near equator/zero degrees declination that is): The MSD steps already
at eight min of arc in contrast to 46 min of arc in Bennett's tables.
I found also a reference to an edition of this tables with an additional
7th figure in steps of one tenth of minute of arc (printed on about 100
pages), but wasn't able to retrieve it so far.
