I think your interpretation (well, at least your wording) goes a little too far. The comment on the moon correction table page addresses bubble sextant observations, but makes no mention of artificial horizons. I believe the comment only applies to AH sights when the moon's image is superimposed on itself, not when using touching limbs (where you have to be careful about which limb is being used).
