The Bygrave would be served well if paired with a splash proof perpetual almanac like table 4. in the back of Pub. 249. The U.S.Navy might even be interested. Why not make some? Even just in the cel nav enthusiast market, I bet you could sell a thousand of them if the price was right (under $50??). I like your "flat Bygrave" solution very much but it lacks that difficult-to-quantify tactile pleasure that comes from working with a real device. And of course, a "real" Bygrave is something that one can show on a shelf.
