Yes, I read this biography shortly after it was published. It helped to complete my understanding of (and appreciation for) Maskelyne, who is so often maligned in other accounts.
It is easy to fall into historical reductionism (Harrison good; Maskelyne bad).
In my view, this biography contributes to a more complete, more balanced understanding of that period and its principal protagonists.

Greetings. I am currently reading "Maskelyne: Astronomer Royal" by Rebekah Higgitt
It seems to have a somewhat different twist to the story of the relationship of John Harrison and Nevil Maskelyne. In fact it makes few references to Harrison and more towards providing an insight into Maskelyne's character.
Just wondering if anyone else has read it and their opinion.
