Which particular chart board did you mean?  There must be several types available. If you mean the RAF/RN Bigsworth Board (invented by the chap the famous ‘Biggles’ is named after) then the following might be useful:

Unless you want them as a collectors item, I don’t think you need any instructions to use the board itself.  Just play around with it and see what happens.  So long as you set it up so north on the chart (true, mag, or grid) corresponds to north on the protractor, all should be well. 

I’m not sure what the auxiliary pointer was for.  Maybe you could use it for whatever you wanted: wind direction; where the carrier was last was; the direction the enemy might be expected; whatever.
