Yes, the examiners loved that prospect. One of the questions on the Basic Navigation Course final exam was always "You are about to fly of the top of your PM1 Mercator Plotting Chart at such and such north, construct the next one degree rectangle up using your protractor and compasses." I'm not sure how they'd have dealt with an answer saying. "I'd have made sure I didn't get into that situation in the first place". DaveP
