Attached is an out of date Latitude Wheeler. The current max min Q value is +/- 40' . To use it all that needs doing at twilight is to match Cassiopeia and Ursa Major on the Wheeler with what is seen in the sky then read from the top the Q correction in minutes of arc which is applied to the Ho Polaris altitude to get latitude.
The pictured modern ditch kit shows the Latitude Wheeler as a yellow wallet sized index card with Q values around Cassiopeia and Ursa Major.
