A meridian transit shot of the sun was one of the most common sights along with morning and afternoon sunsights. Far outnumbering any other body in nuber of sights.
A moon meridian transit is possible but not every day. A sight is only possible when you can see the horizon ie roughly between sunrise and sunset. Only a fraction of days have moon MTs during daytime. Those days offer sun MT sights.
Full moon MT show a false horizon as the bright moonlight on the water does not extend to the horizon.
Hence you don't hear much about moon MTs.
