What do you think of this graphic? Is it surprising? It it correct?? It's certainly colorful.

I suppose it depends upon how you categorise sunlight. E.g. do you count the time that the Sun is just below the horizon? Do you count the Sun’s intensity; i.e. the angle it strikes the ground (it’s not icy at the Poles and blazing at the Equator for nothing)? If you count daylight as any time it’s not actually dark, the Polar Regions probably do win. However, I would have expected the colour bands to be the same for both the Southern and Northern Hemispheres. Otherwise, it’s not fair on the penguins is it. DaveP
