I recently bought an Astra IIIB from Celestaire. It's excellent with the full-horizon mirror, and I like the fact it looks easy to switch to a traditional split mirror - reasonably priced at $75.
The one problem I have is due to the fact that I press my glasses against the scope's eyepiece and that causes it to go out of focus as I rock the sextant. I figure a bit of tape around the barrel to hold it at the right extension will cure. I do let students try it though, so for now I simply refocus as I go.
Or I may just get another scope and customize it for me.

Hi Frank A.I have an Astra III B which I purchased used from Mike Burkes a few years ago. Mike had it for a number of years. It has not had a “ton” of use by me, but seems very stable. I’ve never used it with batteries.I’d recommend it, especially if you can find a used one.

Not new but never used by the look and feel of it.
