I found it difficult to try to use my 12 power inverting scope to check for index error and side error, very hard to hold it steady. I fabricated a bracket to attach the sextant to a tripod. The bracket attaches to a ball head mounted on the tripod. I just wanted to share the concept as I find it helpful when others show how they solved a problem. The idea worked wonderfully and let me get an precise calibration on the sextant. So well, in fact, that I may use it for some of my sights, as most of my sights are on land.
