To continue a thread from 2017.......

Yesterday  my grandaughters were taken on a trip to the the Karori cemetary in Wellington where they looked at some graves belonging to my son-in-laws's side of the family. I asked my daughter if they had seen Mrs Chippy and she said no. I therefore dug out some information for her.

Here are some links I have found related to Harry McNeish.I do not know if McNeish's diary contain any relevant navigational information.

    McNeish's diary online

McNeish papers - not online so a visit to the archives is needed.

    McNeish's funeral - online

    https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/EP19300926.2.45.1

AFAIK no one knows the specific reason why McNeish was not awarded the Polar Medal.
