Peter,
Llinked are pictures of the Type A-8 Elgin stop watch as it sits in a moveable holder below the averager on a MK 5 bubble octant. The holder has two positions so as to be able to stop or start the watch using the averager lever or index finger. These stop watches were also known as Jitter Bugs because of the sound that they make. They seem to be well made except for a flimsy plastic crown. Mine runs but looses a second per minute which I am afraid to compensate for under the back. There are always a few offered on Ebay but getting one in acceptable condition is a crap shoot.
