Arthur, I've read quite a few books on this matter in the last 18 months. In most of them Folger's name is mentioned along with 2 others. The last book on this matter I read was title "The Bounty".I wrote the list about it some time in April or May '04 I believe. It was a very well researched book.By far the most informative on certain aspects of this adventure than most others. It even recreated the tracklines of Bounty's last search for a resting place. It is in the archives. Folger's was either the 1st or 2nd whaler to visit Pitcairn after the Bounty rested there. It was stated the 1st whaleing vessel only sent a party ashore to look for provisions. They noted certain structures on the island that didn't quite fit but left shortly after due to a storm or something. It was actually the 2nd whaler to visit Pitcairn that investigated the sightings. That may be Folger's vessel.I really can't remember precisely what order the ships got to Pitcairn. Check theaArchives from this year under the title "The Bounty". Hope this helps you in your search.
