I was suprised to see Tony talking about old lunar distance tables that are no longer published. Just a reminder to one and all, you can get lunar distance tables from my website. They're free, and they have been available online with regular maintenance for fourteen years. Note that one of the attached examples matches the date of the lunar in 1864 that I posted yesterday. What can you learn by comparing these tables with the worked example from 1864?
