Thanks, Frank. I am more inclined to think that these were made by Magma, and private labeled by others, including Tamya. It appears to be a clone of a C. Plath. I think Tamya may have been responding to price pressure and contracted for these to fill in the low end. I have a Tamaya, and it is far superior to this example. It's also been suggested that folks made counterfiet Tamyas from these.
Part of the reason I say this is because my label says Magma Corp., and then "brand: N.Y. Nautical.
It seems O.K., though, but please excuse, I have made up this alternate narrative I present, based on my observations and reading, and I'm no expert.
