Dear Frank,
Thank you for the clarification.
The main problem with this (interpolation) table was because of the lack of subscripts/headers there. It is not at all obvious what the columns and the raws are about. I look at it all (the traditional/emergency navigation) as the means which a distressed mariner and/or an unexperienced yacht passenger could relay upon in case of a disaster. Therefore all such materials (SR worksheets, tables, supplement data, etc) should be as clear as theoretically possible. If one can catch the idea while comfortably sitting in his armchair - it does not guarantee he will be able to use that same method while struggling for life amid an open water with faulty equipment...
I create a modified copy of nearly all materials I meet in this Forum - to make it understandable for me (at least) - just in case it may be useful to me or my friends one day.
Thanks for mentioning the typos (the arc-seconds instead of the arc-minutes for the angles over 180°) in the main haversine table - I did not notice it before. Your comments on other minor flaws are very useful as well.
Regarding the haversines in general - I'll ask in another thread.
Thanks again!
Warm regards,
Tony
