It is actually a great example of a terrible job of presenting
information. (Think Edward Tufte's "Envisioning Information")
Why on earth shade a number? There is nothing intuitive about
shading a number. Why not just use a negative sign like everybody
else does??? I think whoever did this in the Nautical Almanac
offices should be taken out back and shot. ;-)
