Hello Herman,
it is absolutely fantastic the amount of material in this vein I can find on the ol' internet. I have even found algorithms with incredible accuracy in books and my programmable calculator now does Keplerian sun orbits.
But it relies on electricity. And is for the sun only. So I am expecting a Nautical Almanac here in a few days.
I can use the Almanac off-grid and perform the necessary calculations by hand with pen and paper and also like to have all possible objects within reach on one page. That is a major benefit. I am also an old fart who likes books and have a 1958 vintage HO-214 I use. So a NA fits perfectly.
Preserving old methods by learning and using them is also quite fun. I do photography with film, radio with morse code, short-hand writing etc.
Cheers Micke
