Thanks for the overview. The use of this device has been a mystery to me ever since I acquired it. There was a string attached to the center of the dial and it was not clear to me if it is simply a soft reference ruler or if it had a sighting function like those found on Gunter Quadrants.
If the Sferoscopio del Pino is the quivalent of the Rude Starfinder 2102-D, it certainly is overkill and ponderous to use.
