You can follow NavList message traffic via Twitter: https://Twitter.com/NavListNews. See the attached image below. You don't have to follow any celebrities or get all tweety in your online universe. You don't even have to sign up for an account. You can simply treat this feed as a shortcut to NavList, and you can arrange many different ways of being alerted to messages. For example, you can look at the Twitter feed directly in your web browser. If you sign up for a simple account (easy and free), there are more options. You can set up desktop notifications on your home computer that will show a little alert when a new message is available. Or you can set up alerts to your phone, either quiet popups or noisy announcements with lots of bells 'n whistles. Each NavListNews notification is sent out automatically, faster than you would receive messages by email, and each includes a short link to the message boards if you want to read along and maybe reply. 

This service broke last year when an external system we were using changed its procedures. I spent some hours today setting up a homebrew system that can't break. Can't break ...unless Twitter goes out of business ...or unless I decide to run off to a South Pacific paradise with all the passwords. Both of these are very low probability events.
