NavList newcomers as well as members of long standing sometimes get a feeling of "addiction" to the NavList message traffic: have to read, have to post, can't miss anything! And this frequently leads to burn-out. Sometimes this happens quietly, and members just disappear after a period of intense posting. And in other cases, the addict blames the drug, so to speak, and departs feeling angry at the discussions themselves. In any case, folks depart in fustration derived from something that really is a lot like an addiction! This happens in many online communities. It's easy to waste time online. So how do you each deal with it? Any thoughts for newcomers? How do you stay current on conversations without eating up all your free time??
