Thank you for the invitation to the Zoom session. It is a nice way to conduct a meeting. I now have my computer capable of using its camera. I have others who are interested in using the application for navigation classes. I have a couple of question please:
I was one of the other guinea pigs in that session. I used my phone because I could not install zoom on my tablet. After the session had finished I spent several hours googling and experimenting and finally managed to installed zoom on my tablet. The trick is to by-pass the Play Store and install the apk directly from a third party web site. There is obviously a risk but but in this case it was worth it.
After I had installed zoom I decided to take the online Age of Sail Course but unfortunately it was fully booked.
I also noticed that image is reversed. It caused confusion when I practiced taking a copy of the Admiralty Manual of Navigation down from the bookshelf beside me.
FWIIW my 5 year old grandaughter resumed online school today. The school holidays had been brought forward by several weeks to the start of the lockdown. They are using an app called seesaw which I haven't yet checked out.
