I am looking tentatively at organizing another biennial "Navigation Weekend" at Mystic Seaport Museum (possibly some other location... options are still open) in mid to late Spring of 2010. For those who are relatively new to NavList, please visit fer3.com/Mystic2006 and fer3.com/Mystic2008 for descriptions of events, presentations, and activities at those earlier gatherings. As many of you know, Don Treworgy, recently retired Director of the "Treworgy Planetarium (named for him just a few months ago), is very ill so he will probably not be able to participate directly, but I'm sure he and Mystic Seaport would support our activities if that's where we choose to gather. For something different this year, would some of you like to work on a "Build your own Bygrave" workshop? And if not that, or maybe in addition, how about a presentation on how to use a standard Bygrave (or Gary's flat Bygrave) to solve celestial navigation problems? Any topics within the range of things that we discuss on NavList would be welcome. Also, once we settle on dates and a location, I'm going to ask the rest of you to help publicize this event and help bring in people who are not part of our small community. Naturally, it's more interesting if we get a broader group of people. As in 2008, there will probably be a small fee for attendance to the meeting in 2010 to cover Mystic Seaport's overhead for the event. -FER --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ NavList message boards: www.fer3.com/arc Or post by email to: NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
