Sean - I wondered about producing an Almanac for Jupiter or Saturn which would be an interesting illustration of Celestial Navigation. The GPS or Jovian JPS partially exists in the number of moons visible at any time. It might actually not be necessary to use bodies outside the Jovian system. A variant of Lunar distance should mean that UT could be determined at any time. The corrections for parallax, oblateness, temperature, pressure and refraction should be interesting. As there is no surface then dip could be difficult as might be the horizon, let alone something to stand upon.
Probably not much chance of this being useful but it would be an interesting exercise. I expect that somebody has already done it.
Regards
