One of my celestial navigation students, doing an Atlantic crossing and now visiting Reykjavik, Iceland, took this photo last night at 03:43 (local zone time in Iceland, I suppose). It's a view looking out a window with pretty aurora on display. At a glance you might guess the stars unidentifiable. But hey, nice parallelogram (not the window panes, but the stars!). So what are we looking at? And if the time and location are reasonably accurate, what is the altitude and azimuth near the center of the window?
Nice parallelogram...
