Using Dave Waldon’s interpretation, which I wouldn’t have spotted in a million years, I was still scratching around Ursa Minor, Major, and Pegasus, Denebola is at Leo’s tail, Regulus is at Leo’s front foot, and Alphard is the next star down from the green H in Hydra. Zavijava is useful because it is almost on the Ecliptic, as is Regulus, so you can sketch in where the Ecliptic lies.

A word of warning on green laser pointers. The trail is presumably scatter from dust and moisture in the atmosphere, which makes them particularly visible from the air in clear conditions. This makes pilots jumpy, because they assume they are being targeted for blinding or to knock bits of their aeroplane. Therefore, they’re keen to report them, and the authorities are keen to follow it up resulting in convictions and jailings in both the USA and the UK. Make sure you're 100% clear of air traffic using FR24 or similar before uing yours. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2018/9
