The functions sin^-1 and tan^-1 are included on calculators that cost no more than $10 these days. Or if you have Excel, the functions asin and atan will do what you need (but remember that Excel works in radians, so you will need to enter: degrees(asin(0.5)) if you want to get the arcsin of 0.5 in degrees).
