As most of you have likely heard by now, another terrorist plot which targeted airliners was foiled today. I was watching the news this evening and note that carry on baggage restrictions are just getting tighter and tighter with an ever growing list of what cannot be carried on board with your person.
I will be curious to hear from anyone who, after today, attempts take their sextant along with them as carry on baggage. I haven't had to travel with mine for some time, however, on those rare occasions where I do, I would not even think about consigning it to the baggage handlers. My heart rate quickens even thinking about it.
Given that very few people know what a sextant is, let alone what one looks like, I can see the hassle one would experience with security types when one is travelling with what to the uninitiated, looks like a odd contraption.
