Ageton is my least favorite method, I much prefer Weems or Dreisonstock. These tables are available from time to time on ebay or Amazon or Alibris. Go to the thread about Chichester's computations starting December 8, 2008, I work the same problem with all of these tables so you can compare the methods.

This should take you to that thread: http://groups.google.com/group/NavList/browse_thread/thread/529edc05997d59d7/e002865149e31596?hl=en&lnk=gst&q=chichester#e002865149e31596

    Bill,

I think there are many of us on this list who would love to get our hands on an original Bygrave.  Periodically they show up on EBay mostly in Great Britain.  The most recent one I am aware of was a few weeks ago.  It was bid on by a few people on this list, I think, and went for over 400 pounds (don't know the little squigly symbol) and that was too rich for many.  Alas unfortunately the only way for us to get a Bygrave today is the new Lapook/Bygrave method or figure out how to build one out of cardboard.

I am mostly a lurker on this list.  I am a beginning cel navigator and may be the person that Gary created this for - a voyaging sailor who is interested in Celnav primarily for backup to electronic navigation.  While I cant say that I have figured it out, I have printed out the material that Gary provided and I feel that I will be able to use it.  Well done Bravo.

Are there Bygraves on the market?  I have not found any.
