I've been taking out, and playing with, all of my five models of bubble sextants and am now looking at my Mk IX (early version in aluminum case, no A or B suffix). All is working well except: NO BUBBLE :(. Repeats of the usual drill for producing one have been to no avail. I last used this instrument about 25 years ago. Does anyone have any suggestions for things to try before I start searching for a replacement bubble chamber assembly? I have split the case and see the three screws that appear to fasten it. Do people sometimes have bubble assemblies for sale? Where, apart from ebay, is a good place to look?
