A couple of years ago we were discussing Nocturnals and Astrolabes, and someone recommended a book about the night-time observations made and records kept by medieval monks and holy fathers in the UK and Europe. Apparently, they did so in order that they could say their prayers at the correct time through the day and night. I bought the book and started to read it, but I’ve since mislaid it, loaned it, or given it away. Can anyone remember what it was called. I don’t mean Glen Van Brummelen’s ‘Heavenly Bodies’, which we were discussing around the same time and which I still have in my library. Thanks. DaveP
