Alas, all these links lead to 2 minute teasers. I couldn't find a link to full episode. Maybe too soon, as it was aired only last week.

I was also hoping that someone would explain how Peary's sextant, pictured in the 'teaser', works (insert winking emoticon here). 

But, seriously,the piece was written in 2009, I believe, and wonder if there is any new evidence for, against.  Conclusion (spoiler alert) was the Peary has (had) not proven he was at the Pole. From shadows, it is concluded that he was within 100 km of the Pole, and could certainly have actually reached it, but  there is no proof.  What I thought extraordinary was that fact that Peary dismissed his best navigator and hence was the only one on the final leg to have any nav skill.
