I'm going to lay out my sights with time from a "watch" started at some arbitrary time. This makes it work like a real luner for longitude.
Watch starts at 00:00:00 just before I took my sights.
All altitudes are Hs. My height of eye was about 12 feet. IC=0. Sun sights LL, Moon UL.
Sun 41° 09', 00:00:15
Moon 20° 03', 00:02:15
Lunar Distance 88° 36.0', 00:04:20
Moon 19° 24', 00:06:15
Sun 41° 08', 00:08:30
Then later, before we docked again, I did another Sun sight, dip short about 2 n.m. This location was about 8 miles north and 8 miles west of my earlier "lunar shooting" position. Sun 24° 51', 03:13:30. SEE IT? I needed this later altitude for LOCAL TIME because my lunar work was too close to local noon.
What was my latitude? Noon Sun gives that.
What was my longitude? You could guess from circumstanceal details. Can you make that consistent with the luner shot?! If you don't know where to begin with a lunar, have a look at Frank's "web thing" for clearing lunars: https://clockwk.com/apps/clear/
