Doug, O'Brian was born Patrick Richard Russ His first published book was called: Caesar: The life of a Panda Leopard. He wrote this at the age of fifteen. His second book was called Beasts Royal. He wrote an amount for the Oxford Annual for Boys, I have not gone into all the details of these works... Post war he wrote The Road to Samarcand, but this was not published until 1954. He changed his name on August 20, 1945. does this help ? We are getting slowly away from Navigation - I hope Dan does not mind this regression ... during our Silicon Sea voyage we have to discuss something while at sea !!! Aubrey.
