I've held off because I didn't want to tweak anyone's nose but its entirely off topic.  Completely, entirely off topic.  Not a scintilla of celestial navigation.

Sure. That's two (gentle) votes in favor of stopping this discussion that I count, and I am sure that there are a few others who feel the same way. It's hard to ignore such a mystery, but it's off-topic, so let's wind it down. Here's what I suggest for anyone who has been discussing this: to avoid annoying other NavList members, try to limit yourself to one post a day on the general topic of Flight 370. Unless navigation-specific issues arise, particularly related to NavList's focus on traditional navigation techniques, let's try to observe a little discipline. That's just my opinion.
