Not only are they not geosynchronous, but they're moving WRT a fixed point on Earth at about 10,000 MPH and at a height of about 12,000 miles up. So, when the clocks are subjected to these relative speeds and less gravity, they exhibit measurable relativistic effects- special and general and if corrections aren't made they're useless. Isn't that wonderful? Lots of sites devoted to this now. 10 years ago I found only ONE, but a high school teacher.
