The camera is a Canon SX160 point-and-shoot (aperture about 10 mm). Handheld---I barely got outside in time, so no tripod.

Thanks, Norm, for the heads-up. Saw it here in Palo Alto---nice. Attached is a video clip, which starts right at the Venus approach and continues on to Jupiter, Regulus, and the Moon.
By the way, at around 0:31 I start to panic a little and slew the camera up and down searching for the Moon, thinking I'm zoomed in too much to see it as it flies by. The ISS even goes out of frame briefly at one point. But not to worry, the Moon shows up nicely.
