Long ago and far away, when I was in one of the incredible early computer parts
superstores (no more waiting three days for mail order spares! WoW!) I heard two
similar conversations. Mind you, this was when a "home computer" still didn't
get bought without some business use paying for it.
In the aisle of video cards He: "Which one should we get?" She: "Honey, this box
looks nice." OK, a good way to judge technology products...the box looks nice.
At the checkout register, another Family Moment, similar thing when a husband
"let" his wife swap a hard drive for the same reasons.
Marketing. That's what celestial nav has died from, there are no sextants in
Pretty Pink or Go-Fast Red. I'll bet you that if Celestaire put them in their
online catalog (even as a goof) they'd be getting requests to order them within
90 days. (Hey Ken, April Fools is coming round again...<G>...)
