Don't know. He seems to have been almost unknown within the English speaking 
world, so perhaps not. You could go into Amazon.com and try entering his 
name, and try the same thing with online library catalogues.

Here (in the state of New South Wales) we have a great system that makes 
available all the books  thoughout all the municipal libraries. A book can be 
ordered from the local library, and turn up there a week or so later from 
anywhere in the state. I've got to read all sorts of obscure and long out of 
print books that have been disturbed from a long slumber on the shelves of 
some little dusty country library.

University libraries are another great resource for all kinds of books, if you 
have access them. Here, again, if you can access one you can access them all, 
with only a little extra trouble (and expense).

If you're unsuccessful; and even if not, I can recommend the books of Bernard 
Moitessier. He was (is?) from France, was well in front of the inaugeral 
'Round the World Race as he rounded Cape Horn. He wrote later that he could 
not bear the thought of returning to Europe, so kept going, doing another 
long lap of the Southern Ocean to Tahiti. He thought of sailing ('naviguer' 
in French) as a mystical pursuit. I think at least some of his books have 
been translated.
