Look at page 186, it looks like the Coutinho sextant.

I remember that after they had flown across Russia that they landed in Tokyo because is was a preplanned stop even though they still had enough fuel on board that would have allowed them to continue on to San Francisco. That is the advantage of lighter-than-air flilght.
Notice the watch on the shelf to the left of the navigator.
