I agree with Frank, what matters is the concept, close your eyes and think about the geometric solution: two circles on the surface of the Earth that intersect. I think you know.
Then, there are a lot of methods to calculate the position, (chosen from one intersection, two or none if error is great)..
And be careful, weapons can hurt. Specially the heavy equations... thrown to one's brain.
