I have been enjoying the archived posts on occultations of stars by the moon. It is interesting that a method of finding longitude at sea predated the perfection of the chronometer. Was it ever put before the board of longitude?
Anyway, I found a link with lots of good information of the process and wanted to share it, although if I know this list well, someone here probably wrote the prediction software for the page. :-)
