There's not a whole lot new in these brief articles, but I found them both interesting and worth my time. The articles are probably behind paywalls for most of you, but I'll just say that if you've been looking for a gift for yourself, ask Santa for a subscription to The Economist. It's great prose and excellent coverage of international news. It's one of only three publications that I subscribe to directly.
