    Huub,

    I would like to make a suggestion.  LHA and t both describe the relationship between the observers hour circle and the hour circle of the body and therefore there is an equation that connects them.

    That equation is:      tw = LHA if LHA < 180    or   te = 360 - LHA if LHA > 180.  obviously there is some difficulty in remembering this equation.

    If on the other hand you remember what LHA means and t means ie: 1) LHA goes westerly from the observer to the body taking value 0 -> 360 and  2) t goes from the observer to the body east or west the short way   

    then you should be able to draw the picture ( the earth viewed from above the north pole )  and write down the fomula to use without memorizing them.  Try it, I think you'll like, and be unable to forget it.
