Walls which were built along boundries, which had their magnetic bearing recorded, do indeed show correlation with the magnetic drift.
To which I might add: I cannot imagine why this should be a surprise. Magnetic drift is well documented. If we know a date from centuries past and the magnetic direction at that time, we should be able to see how it has changed.
