Happened upon this cool website today. They have lots of projects for teaching and observing celestial phenomena using paper plates:

Free streaming video is available for projects such as making an astrolabe, shooting the noon sun, finding latitude by Polaris and more. There's other really fun stuff, too, like "Oreo moon phases"!
